Before you begin

Objective: Interpret the writer’s position, the function of examples, the limits of evidence and the links between arguments in a longer text.

Support inferences with the text. Distinguish the writer’s views from those of critics. Words such as “yet” and “however” signal a change in the direction of an argument.
